Pre-Test Required – No Fee
We often recommend that owners/dogs complete Pre-Agility 1 and 2, prior to enrolling in Beginning Agility. This gives students a better foundation before getting into the regular agility classes.
Beginning Agility class starts working on lead and by the second half of the class we start working off lead on small sequences. Dogs are working off leash in Adv Beginning, Intermediate and Advanced classes.
Our agility pre-screening looks for dogs who are calm and friendly around people and other dogs. Dogs should have a strong obedience foundation. Temperament is very important. They have to be able to focus on their owner even with other dogs around, as well as off lead.
Testing includes Sit, Down, Come and Stay with distractions of food being offered and toys squeaked. Example: Down/Stay at 10′ to 20′ for a minute or so, while being tempted by food and/or toys. Off lead control is also important.
If your dog can do these things then call to pre-register for testing. If not, we suggest some of the other training classes like Pre-Agility and/or and Canine Good Citizen in order to prepare for agility.
